Over 17 million record sales later, Jay-Z is back for more with his latest CD, "The Black Album." Just like every HOVA album to date, the Black Album is chock-full of radio and club hits like Encore, Dirt Off Your Shoulders, and 99 Problems. Although this is the first Jay-Z album to grace my collection since Volume 3, every track on this album is listen-worthy, from start to finish.

To me, Jay-Z provides some of the best melodies and beats than I've ever heard. On top of that, his lyrics actually serve a purpose other than money, cars, and women; which in this day in age is pretty rare. Bill Cosby is proud. This lethal combination of seriously addicting beats and delicious lyrics is what The Black Album is all about, rap at it's finest. Some personal favorites on The Black Album in my opinion are Encore's melody, December 4th's lyrics, and Mrs. Carter's memories on the same track. If you enjoy rap and r&b, chances are you're a fan of Shawn Carter. If you're not a fan of everyday r&b and it's MTV image, I challenge you to give The Black Album a try. You might just get hooked. You've been warned.

Our highest recommendation.
