This utterly boring heap of dog crap was supposedly one of the key films of the 1970s. Deliverance earned a nomination for best picture in 1972. It was all for naught though, Deliverance lost to a low budget independent film called The Godfather. Don't think it's a good flick just because it was nominated for pest picture. Somebody did some serious dick sucking to get this steaming pile of shit nominated. I think it was John Voight. Just kidding, please don't sue me. I liked Anaconda.
The plot revolves around four Atlanta businessmen, each having their own unique quirks. Jon Voight is the civilized pussy. Burt Reynolds is the strapping hunter-gatherer in leather pants with matching vest. Ned Beatty is the fat, sweaty guy added into the script for comic relief and anal fucking and Ronny Cox is the neighborly, acoustic guitar playing, child molester. He doesn?t molest any children in the film, but you just get that weird vibe emanating from him. Together the four ragging faggots decide to test their collective manhood on what one inbred townie described as "...only the biggest fucking river in the state." If you are a big canoeing fan you'll love this movie. If you're in the other 99% of the human population, you'll hate this fucking movie. Aside from the occasional inbreed playing a banjo or Ned Betty getting anal raped this movie drags in most parts.
Don't be fooled by its cool name and cover. This movie sucks.
