Justice League Unlimited Season 1 Review

A year ago, when the 2005-06 NBA season began many people picked the Miami Heat to win it all because they had so much talent; so much power at every position. On the other hand for this same reason many picked them to implode because they had too much talent. This year's Miami Heat are the Justice League: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, J'onn J'onzz, Green Arrow, Supergirl, and Black Canary. Talk about utter domination; you'd think no other league of heroes or villians could even compete with the Justice League, unless they have too much power where they become vulnerable. Here lies the dilemna many thought existed with last year's World Championship Miami Heat: can the Justice League overcome their egos and take down Lex Luther and Cadmus before the League is destroyed? The answer to that question and many more lies in the stellar, complete first season of "Justice League Unlimited" on DVD, which was just recently released on four jam-packed discs.

Aside from all 26 phenomenal episodes, do you get anything else with this coveted DVD box set? Good question, self. Yes you do, although the extras here won't necessarily blow you away in terms of quantity or quality. The best special features included have to be the sweet audio commentaries that come with two of the episodes (I know, only two, but hey it's better than none at all.), specifically the episodes "This Little Piggy" and "The Return". Aside from that you get a few other pretty useless features that aren't even worth talking about; you're impressed aren't ya? Listen folks, if you're a comic book/superhero fan you are going to love this box set because the show is phenomenal, even if it's a cartoon. We all grew up watching cartoons like these, and I think that's why it's become so popular. While the special features won't make your jaw drop, the show itself will, which is reason enough to pick this up asap.
