Gary Cooper The Signature Collection Review

Can you name this actor? He's appeared in more than 100 films, and he's won two Academy Awards for Best Actor while being nominated five times. His original name was Frank, yet he changed it to the name of a tough, Indiana town. Alright, I realize you're not stupid and you already know who I'm talking about, but isn't that damn impressive? Gary Cooper is the actor in question, and he's one of the most famous American actors of all-time, without a doubt. Warner Bros. has just unveiled a brand new box set dedicated to the very man entitled, "Gary Cooper: The Signature Collection". Five of his best films: Sergeant York, The Fountainhead, Dallas, Springfield Rifle, and The Wreck of the Mary Deare. If you call yourself a "film buff" and haven't seen or heard of these movies you should be kicked in the groin; all five of these movies are classics and simply spectacular.

To see these awesome films on DVD is amazing; the picture quality is top notch and the sound won't get any better. As far as extra features are concerned, you'll only get any with an extra disc that comes with Sergeant York. You have to understand however that the majority if not all of these actors sadly aren't around right now to give interviews and audio commentaries, and back then those weren't really recorded all that often. What you get for Sergeant York though is incredible, and it's too bad you don't get similar extras with the other films. Nevertheless, it's the feature films that will sell this title like crazy, not the extras, so it doesn't really matter. If you've got grandparents to buy for this Christmas or family movie buffs, the "Gary Cooper Signature Collection" DVD box set is a must-have. Pick this one up today!
