Failure to Launch Review - DVD Review - College Downtime DVD Review

Failure to Launch Review
Collector's Edition (Widescreen)
2006

I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoyed Failure to Launch on DVD. Yes I am a 100% heterosexual male. Before popping this hilarious DVD into the player, I was well aware that it was dubbed as a "romantic comedy". Fellas Failure to Launch, believe it or not, is actually a very funny movie. Romantic stuff aside, this intriguing cast really molds extremely well on camera, and Terry Bradshaw does an outstanding job. I realize this information has nothing to do with the actual review of the physical DVD, but I never posted a movie review so I figured I'd do both at once. Gentlemen, Failure to Launch is the perfect solution if you're looking to score some major brownie points with your girlfriend, boyfriend, BFF, or hell even your mom. And the best part about is that you'll actually enjoy it too, although you don't have to show it. Now on to the DVD itself.

Most of you who have seen this film are going to purchase the DVD regardless of the extras, mainly because it's such an enjoyable movie. However, if DVD geeks didn't exist neither would this DVD Review section on College Downtime. So what kind of extras can you expect if you pick up a copy? The Collector's Edition of Failure to Launch comes equipped with a plethora of extras that consist of cast interviews with Terry Bradshaw and Matthew McConaughey, the official Failure to Launch contest, theatrical trailers, tons of behind the scenes footage taking you into the making of the film, and tons more that will keep you busy for an eternity once you pop it into your DVD player. Okay, so I exxagerated a little there; it technically won't keep you busy for an eternity, but pretty damn close. For the sound buffs, the widescreen edition comes standard with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound, along with the usual subtitles in english and spanish. Overall a very solid DVD, although it's only one disc so there are so many extras you can jam on there.

Failure to Launch is a great movie and an all-around solid DVD with enough extras to keep even the hardcore DVD nuts happy. Highly recommended.
