MXC Season 1 Review
Magnolia
October 4th, 2006
It has finally arrived. The moment we've all been waiting for has come to pass. "Right you are, Raffman." MXC, or known in it's full form as "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" has finally been released on DVD with the unleashing of season one! If you've never seen or heard of MXC before, let me summarize this amazing show as eloquently as possible. MXC pits two seperate teams against one another in outrageously extreme sports events, which feature some hysterical spills and wipeouts that you will ever see. On top of the ridiculously crazy events and goofy looking participants you get arguably the funniest sports commentary on the planet outside of Bob Uecker and John Candy with Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship. To add even more hilarious icing to the proverbial cake, don't forget about their on-site reporting team of Guy LeDouche and Captain Tenneal. Folks, if you haven't seen this show it doesn't even matter; this DVD is an absolute must-have for anyone that loves stupid humor. You can catch the show regularely on Spike TV as well.

Season 1 of MXC features all 13 original episodes spanned across two discs. While the episodes alone are reason enough to pickup this amazing DVD box set, Magnolia Home Entertainment has made the deal even sweeter by throwing in some amazing special features that have to be seen. First and foremost when you pick up this DVD box set you'll get a special feature that shows Kenny Blankenship's 25 Most Painful Eliminations of the Season! Even though this segment is only a few minutes long, I honestly was on the floor laughing during the entire thing and I will probably watch it over and over again in the future. You'll also be getting the original MXC Sales Presentation episode that was shown back in November, 2001, as well as the original episode of "Takeshi's Castle" and extensive (really extensive!) audio commentary from all the stars behind this wonderful show. You know, Magnolia could've just thrown all the episodes on these DVDs and still sold millions of copies, yet they chose to go the extra mile. My hat goes off to them for this awesome gesture, and hell I don't even wear a hat so that's sayin something. Oh, we're giving away both of our MXC Season 1 copies in the forums, so if you're low on cash now's your chance to snag a free copy! MXC Season 1 on DVD receives my highest recommendation!
