Movie Preview Posted on March 14th, 2007
"Pulp Fiction" aside, I honestly have never enjoyed another Quentin Tarentino movie. The Kill Bills did absolutely nothing for me, and I nearly turned the first one off halfway through. Nevertheless, I gotta give the man credit because I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority; in other words, 99% of the world love his work. "Grindhouse" is his latest project and the trailers below definitely look cool, so I'm willing to give it a shot. Grindhouse puts a new spin on films as Tarentino brings back how movies were done back in the ol' days in the 1930's and '40s: instead of one long film you'll be getting two, shorter films that are sure to be action packed. What's the coolest thing I'm looking forward to in this movie? Seeing Rose McGowan with a machine gun for a leg. Full official synopsis below, as well as the CD movie preview usual: pics and videos. Grindhouse tag-teams theaters next month on

Grind House – noun – A downtown movie theater - in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the '30s and '40s - known for "grinding out" non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers' favorite exploitation films. "Grindhouse" will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino's film, "Death Proof," is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez's film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in "Planet Terror." Welcome to the Grindhouse -it'll tear you in two.
Death Proof
For Austin's hottest DJ, Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier), dusk offers an opportunity to unwind with two of her closest friends, Shanna and Arlene (Jordan Ladd and Vanessa Ferlito). This three fox posse sets out into the night, turning heads from Guero's to the Texas Chili Parlor. Not all of the attention is innocent: Covertly tracking their moves is Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell), a scarred, weathered rebel who leers from behind the wheel of his muscle car. As the girls settle into their beers, Mike's weapon, a white-hot juggernaut, revs just feet away...
Planet Terror
In Planet Terror, married doctors William and Dakota Block (Josh Brolin and Marley Shelton) find their graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by gangrenous sores and a suspiciously vacant look in their eyes. Among the wounded is Cherry (Rose McGowan), a go-go dancer whose leg was ripped from her body during a roadside attack. Wray (Freddy Rodriguez), her former significant other, is at her side and watching her back. Cherry may be down, but she hasn't danced her last number. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and Wray lead a team of accidental warriors into the night, hurtling towards a destiny that will leave millions infected, countless dead, and a lucky few struggling to find the last safe corner of Planet Terror.
