Most Extreme Elimination Tribute

Spike Television, in buying the rights to
countless hours of crazy Chinese gameshows, has made this webmaster the happiest guy on the
planet. Maybe I just like stupid humor, but I know for sure I'm not alone on this.
Most Extreme Challenge or MXC for short, is hands down one of the funniest shows on
television today, if not ever. I bet the Chinese government loves the fact that Americans
are spending their afternoons watching them too; the translations done by the MXC voiceover
staff I'm sure are 100% accurate. You think the US diplomat in Beijing is allowed to watch
that show through their satellite television? Come to think of it, the people of China
can't even use fuckin Google so scratch that idea. If you haven't seen Most Extreme Challenge, I'm sure
you've at least heard of it or surfed past it at some point in time. For those of you who
haven't, go watch it. Some, actually the majority of the games those crazy Chinese contestants compete in
are absolutely hysterical; it's like they're taken right out of Super Mario Bros., or even
Donkey Kong.Personally I really enjoy a few of the games more than others, and I'm sure for those of you who have seen that delicious show have seen one or all of these games. The first one involves a mountain scenario, with two guys rolling huge boulders down about a 5 foot wide path on one side of the mountain. When a boulder is coming down the path, there's literally no way to get around it unless the contestant jumps into a sidecave because the path has two walls that go all the way to the top. The brave contestants have to make it to the top of the mountain without getting trampled or knocked over by the boulders; which is not the easiest of tasks. To me this game resembles an old NES game or something; the first time I saw a contestant try and run straight up the mountain fearlessly, then realize that he's about to get smashed by a huge plaster boulder made me nearly fall out of my chair laughing. Then throw in the awesome english voiceovers and this game is gold. Gold, Jerry, GOLD!
While the mountain game is spectacular, it's got nothing on this next one. This game easily ranks as my personal favorite, and I'm sure all of you will somewhat agree with me. The game is setup in a field, with four walls evenly spaced in a column. Each wall contains four doors; some of which are fake and some of which are paper that the contestant can break through. Everything is randomized so the contestant has to throw himself into a random door in hopes that he or she has chosen the right one. If they guess wrong, well let's just say I'm glad they're wearing helmets. The fact that the contestants literally run full speed and sometimes try and "spear" the doors like Jackie Chan is what makes this game my all-time favorite. Oh, and you can't forget the guys in the huge Dragon and Godzilla costumes that are randomly placed behind some of the walls to chase the contestant; that's just icing on the proverbial rice cake. God bless the people who sold Spike TV the rights to these awesome gameshows. You have provided countless hours of laughter and memories to countless procastinating college students around the world.
